Thu 1 Oct 2009: Roger Thorburn moves from Director to Chairman
Roger Thorburn makes the transition from full-time Director of Thorburn Consultants to Chairman and Senior Consultant to the team. Craig Thorburn and Tanya Wylie now lead the company as Directors. The team are pleased to still have access to Roger's extensive experience and skill set and we hope that he can now set about achieving his goal of increased recreational boating ... with some exciting projects mixed in! Fri 19 Dec 2008: Melbourne Aquarium Antarctic Experience Melbourne Aquarium opens Australia's first Antarctic Display featuring live King and Gentoo penguins. The penguins have come from surplus stock bred at Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World in Auckland, New Zealand. Key challenges were :-

Fri 13 Oct 2006: Auckland Zoo exhibits open to public The new tiger and cheetah exhibits, with enhanced public viewing, have recently opened at Auckland Zoo. Designed to provide the public with a sense of being "up close and personal" with the animals, both exhibits feature large glass-fronted viewing areas that give a far less "caged" feel. The internal areas have also been designed to provide an improved environment for the animals. Tue 28 Mar 2006: Whisper Cove bulk earthworks near completion The extensive earthworks stage of the Whisper Cove development at Snells Beach, Auckland, is essentially complete. This has been a challenging programme of works, with careful consideration given to the erosion and sediment control on this high-profile site. First stage construction of the luxury beachfront apartments is due to commence mid-April, with final completion of the entire development projected for late 2008 or early 2009. |
