Thorburn Consultants developed the concept for Melbourne Aquarium's hugely successful Giant Squid exhibit - uniquely frozen in ice - for the December 2005 Christmas holidays. This included concept design, specimen acquisition and delivery, and identification of specialist contractors to undertake this "World's First" exhibit.
During his time with Melbourne Aquarium, Craig Thorburn was involved in the development of several specialist exhibits. One of the more interesting - and challenging - of these was the creation in 2001 of an aquarium inside a car ! This technically innovative project was undertaken in conjunction with Honda and featured on their stand at that year's Melbourne Motor Show, before moving to its permanent home at the aquarium.
